October 31, from 5:30. Bonfire, hot chocolate, outdoor movie ("ET"), treats for kids, and hot dogs and soda for sale. A scary movie for teens and adults begins at 9:00 pm. Drop by for a visit, meet your neighbors!

Stand-up at Johnson Hall–an Evening of Hilarious Adult Comedy
John Ater, Chris Mack and Tuck Tucker, homegrown Maine comedians with smart, hilarious comedy, are doing a show at Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center, 280 Water Street, Gardiner on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 pm. It’s part of the Center Stage series co-sponsored by Kennebec Savings Bank and Valentine Green Music. The show is supported by Terra Magna Services, Inc. John Ater has been performing in the Midcoast and Portland area for 5 years. He is a favorite at the Comedy Connection, has performed at the University of Maine and many corporate parties. John’s hilarious comedy centers around being from Maine, raising teens, and being a painting contractor.
Tuck Tucker has appeared on HBO’s Best 21 Comics and has performed at many of New England’s top venues as well as in New York City at the Comic Strip. He is also a regular at the Comedy Connection in Portland. Tuck’s comedy is smart and witty and sure to please.
The host is Chris Mack. Chris’ unique style of comedy has been delighting audiences all around Maine for 5 years. His topical humor is a breath of fresh air and sure to please audiences. His spin on family, work life and current events will really tickle the funny bone.

Halloween is coming! Join us at the Gardiner Farmers Market (on the Commons) on Wednesday, October 28th for some pumpkin decorating! Craft supplies will be provided by Gardiner Main Street from 3-5, just bring your own pumpkin or buy one at the Farmers Market.

PLEASE consider the opportunity to join Reny’s in their Annual Early Bird Sale. They generate 200 customers during this event and we’d like you to participate. We will need to know if you are going to participate no later than FRIDAY, Oct. 23 so that we can include your business in various announcements, including. posters and flyers. A Halloween contest will be conducted by Blue Sky Bakery this month based on the collection of odd and mysterious items in their show-window entitled "Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe." "I Spy with My Little Eye" will test your observation skills as well as your knowledge of mystery games and movies. The grand prize winner, to be named on Saturday, October 31, will be two dozen mondo cookies! Pick up your contest blank at the bakery.

Design Committee: Focus on getting downtown into top physical shape. Creating an inviting atmosphere through window displays, parking areas, signage, facade improvement, public art projects and landscaping.
Promotions Committee: Marketing our downtown’s unique assets through public relations, retail promotional activity, and special events. Meeting: Wednesday, 11/4 11:30 at at Bagel Mainea
Organization Committee: Provides structure for Gardiner Main Street through strategic planning and fund raising.
Economic Restructuring: Help existing downtown businesses thrive and expand and recruiting new businesses.

Holiday Collection Jars
Approx. 40 jars need to be decorated and distributed to participating businesses to collect funds to defray the cost of holiday events.
Approx. Time: 2.5 hours
Fundraising Campaign
Quarterly, about 40 fundraising letter envelopes need to be stuffed, addressed, and if possible, hand delivered.
Approx. Time: 4 hours
Early Bird Cards
About 200 cards reminding people about the Early Bird Special on 11/7 need to be copied, cut and distributed.
Approx. Time: 1 hour
