Christmas in BathTinkling lights against the soft grey of the Kennebec…historic buildings in festive dress…the sparkle of winter’s first snowfall…store windows decorated for the holidays…craft fairs, music and hometown get-togethers…

It’s an excellent time of year to be a part of Bath’s vibrant community. As the temperature drops our spirits rise and true values in life shine through; friends, family, shelter, warmth, good food, and hats and mittens. Don’t let the mere 10 hours of daylight slow you down, there are plenty of activities all through the month of December to help you enjoy an Old-fashioned Christmas in Bath!

Downtown Holiday Open House
Downtown Bath invites you to a very special shopping evening on Friday, December 18th.  The streets will glow with lights and holiday spirit as we celebrate Front Street’s recent recognition as one of the 10 Great Streets in America!

Stores will stay open until 8pm with unique, useful, stylish and heartwarming gift selections for everyone on your list. On Front Street, the lobbies of First Federal Savings & Loan, Bath Savings Institution, Key Bank and The Kennebec Company at the Customs House will also be open from 5-8pm to warm shoppers with music, refreshments and entertainment.

Please plan to join us and be prepared to vote for your favorite store window during downtown Bath’s Window Decorating Contest, which begins that evening through December 20th. Your vote will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Gift of Bath gift certificate. Look for the ballot boxes in downtown businesses! Contest and drawing winners will be announced December 21st at Bath’s annual community caroling party, Sing! It’s Christmas! at the Chocolate Church Arts Center.
