The drive through at Deb’s Ice Cream is open for coffee and breakfast. Jennifer Kruk, the owner of Deb’s, located at 32 Water Street in Randolph, decided that she wanted to expand her hours of operation into the winter months. According to Jen many of her loyal customers have caught on to the idea and have dropped by to support her in her new venture.
Deb’s is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Jen said she opened for business on December 10th and has been serving free donuts. She is assisted by her sister Katie Webb who helps serve customers, prepares home-made goods and keeps the traffic flowing smoothly.
Deb’s offers Green Mountain coffee in assorted flavors. The breakfast and French toast blends are organic. Other flavors include hazelnut, caramel vanilla crème and a Columbian decaf. Hot Tea is also available. The little ones are not forgotten. For them Deb’s sells hot chocolate. You can also purchase orange juice and chocolate milk.
Their specialty is home made donuts that are fried in an organic oil. Jen and Katie’s mom made these donuts for them while they were growing up. The recipe came from Jen’s great-grandmother. The girls loved the donuts then and are now sharing them with you. The donuts, and most pastries, are made right there which ensures that your selections will be hot off the rack when you get them. I had a plain donut and I have to tell you, it was to die for. It was crispy on the outside and nice and hot on the inside. It had just the right amount of sweetness and I could have eaten eight of them. How can anyone turn down a free homemade donut? No telling how long that special will last, so get over to Deb’s while you can!
Breakfast sandwiches are available and are served either on an English Muffin or a Croissant. They can be filled with sausage, bacon or ham with egg and cheese. These are made throughout the morning ensuring they are fresh and service is fast. Their prices are competitive and everything they serve is made from farm fresh ingredients.
Be sure and to get your free coffee card on your first visit. When you buy six coffees, your seventh is free. Please keep in mind that ice cream is not being served at Deb’s this winter. A few customers have requested ice cream but have not been disappointed when having to settle for a fresh baked pastry instead.
Jen understands what it’s like to be in a hurry in the morning. That fact was one of the main reasons she decided to have winter hours. “We save a lot of commuters from going out of their way to pick up that morning cup of Java,” Jen said. Many of her customers had to add fifteen minutes or more to their daily commute because the service they provide wasn’t being offered on the Randolph side of the bridge.
So, get on over to Deb’s this winter for some fresh, hot coffee and homemade baked goods. Deb’s New Years resolution is to keep coming up with homemade ideas everyone will like and fast service. They are planning on expanding their donut flavors and will be offering homemade pastry specials on Friday’s.
