This concert series highlights exceptionally talented young performing artists from around the world. On March 6th, Fyve will be playing with SixVolt, a teen band from New Jersey that will be releasing and performing their first EP album called “Mumbo Jumbo”. Other talents performing at “Kids Helping Kids” this March are from Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, Connecticut, and North Carolina. YAF encourages all artists selected to perform in this concert series to have similar benefit concerts in their communities. This type of “giving” by these youngsters is really what this organization works to highlight and support. To request a local “Kids Helping Kids” concert from Fyve, contact them at Fyverock@roadrunner.com and their website is at www.FyveRock.com .
About the teen band Fyve
Winthrop Maine’s teen rock band is a group of mostly 14 year-old girls and boys, all with birthdays in 1995. Fyve has a unique full sound that is enhanced by the band’s ability to harmonize together. The kids are writing more & more rock originals all while performing covers from 80’s classic rock to some of today’s alternative & rock hits. In the past 12 months, they have played in New Hampshire’s Rock’n RibFest, Maine’s WTOS School Of Rock, Winthrop’s Megafest, the Windsor Fairgrounds Charity Bike Run, Readfield Depot, Lakeside Revue, New York City’s Classic Stage Theater, and many other local shows. Fyve can be seen some times on open jam night at The Kennebec Wharf in Hallowell. Expect them to play Sunday shortly after 5pm on 2/28/10. After returning from Webster Hall in NYC, Fyve is hoping to sell out the next WTOS School Of Rock Concert on 3/27/10 at the Winthrop Performing Arts Center, all proceeds go towards local music programs. Check the website www.FyveRock.com for tickets, show dates, and links to Youtube videos, Facebook. Myspace, etc.
Lead Singer & keyboardist Danielle Pease has a sultry voice and confident energy that keeps fans begging for more. She comes from a family with a long list of accomplished musicians. 8th grade guitarist & vocalist Kristen Veayo is a songwriter with a unique ability to write songs, composing the music with the lyrics all at once. Her identical twin, Katherine Veayo is the drummer and can do back-up vocals simultaneously. She is a natural performer with an “old-school ear” for music. Guitarist Declan Chu has a way of pulling the crowd in with his awesome solos. Aaron St. Pierre, the bass player has a super stage presence, he is always smiling and moving when he plays music.
About the Youth Arts Forum
Youth Arts Forum began in the early 1990s with the mission of uniting the Youth of The World through the Arts. YAF displayed and sold artwork by young people between the ages of 5 and 18. We produced several renowned art exhibitions in the NoHo Gallery in Manhattan New York, as well as having young artists’ works displayed in retail establishments, like A.I. Friedman, and numerous public and private schools through the greater New York area.
Founded by Barry Salottolo, the “new” Youth Arts Forum is more exciting and far reaching than ever before. In addition to photography, painting and sculpture, we now include musical and performing arts. This affords the creative young people from all over the world to showcase their work in the performing and visual arts. This, by its very makeup, will draw young people together in their common passion for the arts. It opens a dialogue that cannot be silenced. We hope that kids, parents, teachers and everyone will support the youth of the world as they work through their talents in the arts, to unite the world.
