Written on August 26th, 2010 by George L. Tibbetts Jr.one shout

Although I haven’t really heard that much on the issue of making Gardiner downtown open to two-way traffic, I feel compelled to speak out on this issue early because I strongly believe that to re-create the traffic pattern of the 50’s in Gardiner is summarily flawed.

Gutting the Citizens Initiative on Marijuana Distribution

Written on August 16th, 2010 by George L. Tibbetts Jr.one shout

In November, 59% of Maine voters passed Question 5, the citizen’s initiated new Maine Medical Marijuana Law. The original intent of the people’s law was to increase access for people who suffer from certain defined debilitating conditions to their chosen treatment: marijuana. The People’s Law did not trespass upon anyone’s individual rights nor did it take away from municipalities the right to decide what kinds of businesses they want in their towns. The People’s Law ensured the rights of the people regardless of personal perspectives on marijuana use.
